Yeah, it's kinda sad when that cool history ends, but then again there would be problems if the east still lived in an empirical world, or Japan was still in the Bakumatsu or something. Sounds cool in anime, but thats about it.
Who is Japans emperor?

Oh I'm sorry I just realized the first emperor of Japan, Jimu ruled from 10AD-30AD, if I'm not mistaken again this time. The current emperor by the name Akihito, who I belive the son of the famouse Hiroshito who's voice ultimately made Japan to surrender in WWII is number 125th emperor in the sucession from the semi legindary Jimu. The title of Japanese emperor is Teno and although there is democracy and parlament in Japan right now, the emperor still gets to appoint some judges into the supreme court. Other then that, the emperor serves a symbolic purpose, more of a tradition of an unbroke succession and he definetly not anymore belived to be the living God. However, even when Hiroshito was forced to give up that myth by United States, Japanese people still viewed him as the living God, but Akihito isn't viewed like that.
It is hard to say weather the monarchy is a good form of government or not. Even with absolute monarchy there are certain ages when everyone lives happily, it's just determined by what kind of person holds the power. Same could be said about many other, non monarch governments in the world.
This is my opinion on this and by the way, the revolution in both Russia and China, might not had been because the long and opressive rule, but maybe rather because of the heavy cost of war that had occured there just before the revolution took place.
If you look at the American colonies, the revolution also broke out right after a really expensive war between Britain and France there. The loss of finances to the war effort, often leads to a heavy taxation in the after math, that's ultimately the spark for the civil unrests and the revolutions universaly.
So as you can see, there are other factors besides long dynastic rule and Russian monarchy wasn't as old as some other monarchies around the world. The Romanov family ruled Russia only for about 300 years where as Osmanli dynasty of Ottoman Empire was on a throne since 13th century until a little after World War One (the last sultan was deposed in 1922) and the dynasty of Japan still remains world's oldest dynasty.Nevertheless, I never was able to find the mentiones of the name of this dynasty, I like to call the dynasty of Japan "Yamato" dynasty which is the name of the anciant state of Japan and the name of one of the provinces in the later state. Perhaps it's from whre the state of Japan first had begun.
*looks at watch* Time to end the lecture, everyone are free to go now, but do your reading for the next lecture and I'll see you all there. *packs and leavesL*

O.O Cool, I didn't realize that Japan had the oldest dynasty. Yeah, I agree with that theory actually. Nobody likes taxes after all. XD

when I said oldest, I meant the oldest that survived to this day, since there were some older empires that are no more today. But still, I doubt that there is such an old, uninterupted dynasty anywere else in time.

Interesting stuff, I thought that England had the longest reigning monarchy, of course that has been passed down through various ties of blood and battles of succession and stuff. Care to say War of the Roses anyone?
Wow I didn't realize that pattern. Interesting. Of course nobody likes taxation without representation. I'm sure if the colonists had had a representive in England fighting for them they wouldn't have jumped to war so quickly. Who knows maybe we'd still be drinkin tea.

I figured China had the oldest in terms of when it started...or some other asian country....No wait..*slaps herself* Egypt. Duh. My favorite culture next to Japan and I forget about it. Lol. Egypt went back the furthest, but ended the longest ago.

yep, Egypt survived for thousand of years, but also ended some hundred years before the common era had began. However, Egypt wasn't exactly an empire and had as much dynasties as China used to have, perhaps even more. And England never had an uninterupted dynasty at all! It was rulled by series of diferent dynasties like Tudor and Windsor (I belive Windsor is some German dynasty actually) There much more then those two. When I'll find the list of world dynasties I made a while ago, I'll show you. Oh and according to my reasearch, the first official empire in the world was Persian Empire and by official, I mean the one that actually had Empire in it's name. I don't belive that Egypt was ever called an Empire.

Well I'm not sure about the number of the dynasties, since there was a time when the power was in the hands of high priests of Amun.
Have anyone heard that King Tut was actually assassinated? It either that, or some accident cause a severe injury that led to his death.
After the close examination of his remains, they noticed that his knee cap is missing and it doesn't looks like it gone missing after his death.
The current theory is that he felt off the chariot during a private ride and severed his knee on some rock in a dessert. Perhaps it took them hours if not days to find him there. In the age without anti-biotics, it is obviouse that he would develope an inffection that had killed him.
The seccont theory that is used right now is that he got separated from his troops during a battle, and came face to face with an enime soldier and during the fight, got stabed in the knee by a sword.
In anyways, that could as well have been a carfuly planed assassination in which he would fell off the chariot, or would be left alone with an enemy on a battlefield.
One may never know what had happened there. Oh as soon as I'll get my notes on the dynasties, I shall post them here. I can't recall where have I stored them, lol

Yes, I've heard the theory he was assassinated. Apparently there is a skull fracture too on his...skull. Duh.>_>; Some show went on about his royal advisors plotting against him and they stabbed him in the back, and he fell down some stairs....who knows.
I think there are 31 dynasties in Egypt that span through the Early Dynastic Period, Old Kingdom, First Intermediate Period, Middle Kingdom, Second Intermediate Period, New Kingdom, Third Intermediate Period, and Late Period.

Atention, I will hardly be online from now on. As embarassing it may be, I failed 3 classes in college in spring and am not allowed to go online legaly by my mom. (Yeah I still live with my parents, but I'll be starting to work on living by myself this fall and all that stuff) Hope to talk to you all later, when everything will get better. Goodbye for now and just to let you all know, it had been a pleasure and I enjoyed all of those lectures in here. Take care and God Bless you all my friends!
