Mainly what I want to talk about is isolationism. It is a U.S. foreign policy course followed throughout most of our nation's history, whereby the US has tried to stay out of other nations' conflicts, particularly European wars. Do you think we should revert back to this policy or continue to medle with countries and try to become "Team America, World Police".

Hmm, like I was telling you. I think it's fine that we want to help, and it's fine that we only do it for our selfish reasons, because it benifits us mostly. Plus everyone is selfish usually. I don't think, however, that we should in any way attemt to turn every o nation into a democratic society. Thats great it worked out for us after along time. But muslims, and islams and everyone else over in the east probably don't want to have a government pushed on them. The ones who support it probably only do so becaue they think it'll make things easier, or to support their family, ect. Isolationism will just make things worse with intradependency and the economy. And proabably encourage terrorists. Overall I'll take the current Team America over isolationism, but still, we need to step back some.

That is true too. For such a "great" country, we sure suck. XD Domestic policy should come first, I agree.

well the president is just one man. Plus really the only reason we started stuff in the Middle East was because people wanted action taken after Sept. 11th. They probally would have left everything alone over there until they attacked or did something to one of our allies (of course knowing Bush he would have made allies with Israel or something and waited for someone to attack them so he could attack back.) The whole point is that if he hadn't acted on the 9-11 bit then he would have been percieved as weak, and he would have been remembered as the president who didn't "defend his country." Besides every country has the problems which you mentioned. But I do agree we do take up most of it. Did you know that the country gives away billions upon billions of dollars to countries without hope of ever seeing those dollars again. And the U.S. contributes to 1/5 of the worlds green gases. Of course other countries are having problems like raical issues and diesease. Care to take a look at France, the Muslims that lived there were having riots. Also consider the bird flu, it didn't start here.

no forgein policy is an on going issue, it will never be solved until anarchy takes apart the United States (which we can pray will never happen), or the world ends.

no the reason everything is slow is because of buracracy and everything having to be in triplicate. Our government is going through a tuff time because the Democrats are always going, "What ever Bush or any Republican says it's wrong." But they won't come up with any solution of their own. Bush had to rebuild the economy when it started to crash at the end of Clinton's reign. Clinton pretty much rode on the economy the Regan built. I'm not the biggest Bush fan, but I can defend that he's had a tough reign. And because of all the conflict and controversy of the war in Iraq and other things it hasn't slowed domestic policy down, Bush did things with No Child Left Behind. Which is good in concept, but he went about it the wrong way.
* I would like to note that I will no longer be defending Bush ever again! Ever!

I'm an independent, I don't care for either party, but I have views of each of them. I don't care if you hate Bush. Do you even have a logical explaination for hating Bush? I'm saying that all the Democrats are doing is bitching and moaning in Washington about how Bush is a moron and doesn't know what he's talking about. They don't even hear what he has to say and they accuse him of being wrong about the whole situation. YOU Democrats all bitch and moan and never come up with any other solution. Ex: "Bush say..." "Bush is wrong...." "Then what's the solution?" "I don't know but Bush is wrong." I will take the Democrats seriously when they get off of their lazy asses and come up with actual solutions that will work.
And in case you haven't noticed the stock market always crashes in the summer. Do you want our country crashing because they invested all our money in something that crashes. And the government can't buy stocks in private affairs. Take U.S. Government in college because you obviously didn't pay attention to it in high school.

oh don't turn a political debate into a tear feast. If you don't like a heated debate then don't post in this part of the forum. I get really testy when it comes to things like politics, it is how I was raised. My advice take a government course in college.
what school do you go to. As far as I know everywhere to pass high school you need a U.S. Government class. This is one instance where the No Child Left Behind Act should be good. Inform your local leaders and then get them to change it. So people will be more aware.
Anyway back to forgein policy. The war in Iraq. Do people out there think we should pull out or not?
